Berlin Shopping Tips

Berlin has easily some of the best shopping in Europe. There are loads of small, independent stores and fashion houses here, as well as all the big brands that you are likely to want.

For the established upmarket brands (think Hugo Boss, Gucci, Escada, the Gap etc) you could try Friedrichstrasse in Mitte. Take the U-bahn to Stadtmitte station and then head up away from Checkpoint Charlie. Alternatively, head to the Kufurstendamm in the West (Take U1 and get out at Uhlandstrasse or Kufurstendamm) for all the usual chains, from H&M and Vero Moda to Desigual.

The more exciting shopping, though, is in Berlin’s funky fashion district around the Hackscher Markt, heading up towards Rosa Luxemburg Platz. As far as shoes go, for example, you’ll find some established brands that may be familiar with from home (Camper, Buffalo, Vialis and Ugo Torrini), but also all kinds of amazing little stores. Be sure to check out Trippen Shoes as you wont find anything like these elsewhere.

Other great stores to check out are Oliver Rheinfrank’s Antique and Vintage Jewellery (Linienstrasse 44, 10119, Berlin) (www.antique-jewellery.de)
